An Official Selection of the 2020 Edmonton Short Film Festival, One Bad Day was written by Jason R. Kay for WR62 Producing for Writers Class 2020. Production began in March 2020, but due to the shut down, the short was not shot until July 2020. The project came together within a few weeks with virtual production meetings, casting and crew calls, and was shot in one day in one location, the VFS campus at 198 West Hastings Street. The team was comprised of 4 Producing for Writers students, and 3 VFS Sound Design Students:
